Women for Climate Change Adaptation
(W4CCA) Network
Empowering Women • Building Resilience • Driving Local Climate Solutions
Women across Bangladesh’s climate-vulnerable regions face the harshest impacts of climate change—yet they are also the strongest agents of adaptation. From managing household resources to leading community preparedness, women are at the frontline of resilience.
To recognize and strengthen this leadership, EPRC, with support from The Asia Foundation, launched the Women for Climate Change Adaptation (W4CCA) Network in 2016. This action-research initiative brings together women from disaster-prone areas and connects them with government institutions, local leaders, and development partners.
🌍 What is W4CCA?
An evidence-based, gender-responsive network where women lead local climate solutions. The network follows a non-profit governance model, with EPRC serving as the secretariat. A voluntary advisory group brings in voices from BADC, BWDB, DPHE, academia, international organizations, LGIs, and community stakeholders.
Women contribute their knowledge in food security, agriculture, water, sanitation, hygiene, and resource management—becoming innovators, entrepreneurs, and pioneers in climate adaptation.
